Mumbai:
Former Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse’s decision to leave the BJP was “tough” for him, but also “inevitable,” his daughter Rohini Khadse said today.
Eknath Khadse, who had been upset since he had to resign from the Devendra Fadnavis-led ministry in 2016 over corruption allegations, resigned from the BJP on Wednesday and is ready to join the Sharad Pawar-led PNC on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in Nashik, Rohini Khadse said: “My father had given 40 years of his life for the BJP and its growth. It was certainly a difficult decision for him and me, but I think it was inevitable. insurance “.
“There is no turning back now … we will join the new party with vigor,” he said.
In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP denied Eknath Khadse a ticket and instead sent Rohini from the Muktainagar constituency in Jalgaon district.
When asked about it, she said: “I was extremely disappointed that the BJP denied my father the ticket.
There was no joy that they played me because they denied him the ticket. “
“There were some reasons why he did not receive the fine, but I cannot say anything more on that subject,” he said.
Rohini Khadse had lost his seat to Shiv Sena’s rebel, Chandrakant Patil.
After leaving the BJP, Eknath Khadse, 68, blamed Devendra Fadnavis for “trying to destroy his life” and his political career.
Eknath Khadse’s daughter-in-law, Raksha Khadse, is a member of BJP Lok Sabha from Raver’s Maharashtra headquarters.
