CHENNAI: AIADMK coordinator and deputy prime minister Or Panneerselvam on Wednesday the prime minister declared Edappadi K Palaniswami as the main ministerial candidate of the party for the Tamil nadu assembly election in 2021.
Palaniswami, who is the joint coordinator of the party, announced to the members of a steering committee, which is OPSThe long-pending lawsuit of factional merger after the death of former Prime Minister J Jayalalithaa. The members of the steering committee are: Dindigul C Sreenivasan, P Thangamani, SP Velumani, D Jayakumar, C Ve Shanmugam, R Kamaraj, JCD Prabhakar, PH Manoj Pandian, P Mohan, R Gopalakrishnan and C Manickam.
The announcements came after marathon discussions at the OPS residences and EPS by party leaders and ministers throughout Tuesday. The discussions of five ministers – P Thangamani, SP Velumani, D Jayakumar, C Ve Shanmugam and RB Udayakumar – and the deputy coordinators – KP Munusamy and R Vaithilingam – with Panneerselvam continued until 3 am on Wednesday.
