Yesterday, October 16, Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. And today, reviewers and specialist resources began receiving their copies of new iPhones. But until October 21, they do not have the right to post reviews and comparisons. Among those who received the iPhone 12 Pro Max for testing were specialists from the DxOMark laboratory. They have already given preliminary comments on the smartphone.
In particular, they expressed doubts that the telephoto lens of the iPhone 12 Pro Max will surprise and impress with its capabilities. In his opinion, neither the focal length increased to 65mm, nor the 5x optical zoom give a competitive advantage over its rivals. Also, in terms of its capabilities, the camera should be inferior to the zoom lenses on the Huawei P40 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, where sensors with a focal length of 125mm and 120mm are installed, respectively.
Such statements already indicate that DxOMark experts are skeptical of the iPhone 12 Pro Max camera and unlikely to give Apple’s new product a high score. However, let’s not rush to conclusions, let’s hope for a full review of DxOMark.
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra disappoints and ranks 10th on DxOMark
DxOMark specialists have finally published a review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone. Surprisingly, the new flagship of the Koreans not only did not become the best in the rating of the platform; but it couldn’t even get past the Galaxy S20 Ultra model, ranking only 10th. The Note 20 Ultra received 130 points for photographic quality and 101 points for video. Still, the Note20 Ultra is one of the best camera phones at the moment, and the gap to the leader in the DxOMark rating is only 9 points. And many have questions about this classification.
When we take a look at the cameras of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, we are greeted by a main camera with a resolution of 108 Megapixels (f / 1.8). A telephoto camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels (f / 3.0 – OIS 5x optical zoom – 50x hybrid zoom) accompanies the main camera.
