NEW DELHI: On Sunday, a massive dust storm passed through the national capital and neighboring areas, a day after the mercury hit the 40.9 degree Celsius mark in the city, the highest of the season so far.
Light rains were also reported from isolated locations in Delhi-NCR, meteorological experts said.

Gusty winds and rains caused a significant drop in mercury.
The maximum temperature is expected to settle at around 35 degrees Celsius.

Delhi residents on social media shared videos of gusty winds with columns of dust engulfing the streets.
Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the IMD’s regional forecasting center, said it was the result of a new western disturbance.
Winds of up to 70 kilometers per hour swept the national capital accompanied by light rains, he said.
