It is also likely that it will rain very heavily over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya for the next 24 hours. A channel (low pressure area) runs from Madhya Maharashtra to the Comorin area through Inner Karnataka and Kerala at lower tropospheric levels. Under the influence of this system, scattered or heavy rains with thunderstorms and lightning are very likely to occur over the coast of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the coast of Karnataka during the next 24 hours.

Dry weather is likely to occur in most of northwestern India from September 28.

In general, monsoon rains have exceeded the country by 9% since June 1, with an excess of 28% in the south of the peninsula; 16% excess over central India; 15% deficiency in Northwest India and 3% excess in East and Northeast India.
