The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) summoned key players Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh on Wednesday to record their statements regarding the agency’s investigation into the “drug syndicate” it supplied “Narcotics to Bollywood”.

While Padukone was called up on September 25, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan were called up on September 26 by NCB.

Padukone’s name appeared on the case after some WhatsApp conversations emerged allegedly between his manager Karishma Prakash and a “D” talking about drugs. Padukone manager Prakash, who was summoned to join the investigation, did not appear before the OCN on Tuesday due to health problems. She has been exempt from appearing before the drug agency until Friday.

According to NCB, actress Rhea Chakraborty, arrested in the drug case brought in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death investigation, had named Sara, Rakul and designer Simone Khambatta during her questioning by the agency between 6 and September 9. She did not specify in what connection Rhea had called them.

The central anti-drug agency had questioned Rajput talent manager Jaya Saha on Tuesday for the second day in a row and was again called in for questioning on Wednesday.

So far NCB has made 19 arrests, including Rhea and her brother, in connection with the FIR registered for “busting the drug ring in Bollywood.” This FIR is separate from another one registered against Rhea in relation to the talks ED had found on her cell phone where she was “discussing narcotics.”

The 34-year-old Rajput was found hanged at his home in the Bandra suburbs on June 14.
