Rishi Kapoor last breathed Thursday morning after a two-year battle with leukemia. He was cremated at the Chadanwadi crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday, in the presence of some of his family and friends. Rishi’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who lives in Delhi with her in-laws, was unable to attend her last rites due to the national closure. Although he applied for a special permit from the Delhi Police and obtained a pass, he was unable to fly. Therefore, he took the road route to Mumbai from the capital on Friday.
On Friday, he took his Instagram stories to share that he went to Mumbai to meet his mother, Neetu Kapoor. Sharing a video taken in his car, he wrote: “Driving home Ma. Enroute Mumbai (sic)”.
Riddhima, who was unable to be physically present at the Chandanwadi crematorium in Mumbai, saw Ranbir and the family performing the last rites in a video call. You are supposed to arrive in Mumbai sometime later today. She has to drive 1,400 km from Delhi to Mumbai.
Previously, she shared several photos of herself and Rishi Kapoor, remembering the late actor. In his post, he wrote, “Dad, I love you, I will always love you. RIP, my strongest warrior. I will miss you every day. I will miss your FaceTime calls every day. I wish I could be there to say goodbye! Until we let’s find”. again dad, I love you, your Mushk forever. “
He also shared several photos of Rishi Kapoor with her in her stories. She wrote: “I already miss you so much dad! Come back na .. (sic)”.
The remains of Rishi Kapoor were taken to the Chandanwadi crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon. Only 20 of Rishi Kapoor’s close friends and family could be part of his latest journey. Ranbir Kapoor steered the hearse carrying Rishi’s body. His girlfriend Alia Bhatt was also present along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Armaan Jain, Rima Jain, and Aadar Jain, among others.
