Doordarshan to broadcast ‘Ram Leela’ live from Ayodhya


National broadcaster Doordarshan is scheduled to broadcast live from Ayodhya ‘Ram Leela’, the dramatic representation of Lord Rama’s life according to the Ramayana.

According to a statement from the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, the live broadcast of the event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Uttar Pradesh government and was launched by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs of Uttar Pradesh, Neelkanth Tiwari. and the Bharatiya Janata party deputy, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma.

“Doordarshan went live on the first day of Ram Leela which started in Laxman Qila on Ayodhya’s Saryu coast … In addition to Doordarshan, Ram Leela is also streamed LIVE on the internet on YouTube and other government social media channels “the statement said.

Shashi S Vempati, CEO of Prasar Bharati also tweeted about the broadcast along with footage of the Doordarshan team preparing to bring the great adventure into people’s homes.

“The Doordarshan team is ready to bring Ram Leela from Ayodhya LIVE starting today,” he tweeted.

“In view of the COVID-19 related precautions during the festival season, I am pleased to share that Doordarshan will be bringing Ayodhya’s” Ram Leela “LIVE every day via Navratri. Live TV broadcast and YouTube broadcast they will be on DD National 7:00 pm onwards from tomorrow, “Vempati tweeted on October 16.

The Ram Leela will take place over nine Navratri days from October 17-25.
