Kings XI Punjab star Chris Gayle has been hospitalized, the same veteran hitter confirmed the news Saturday night. While he didn’t reveal the reason behind the same, it appears that food poisoning is the reason.
Earlier this week, KXIP head coach Anil Kumble had revealed that Chris Gayle was not included in the eleven in the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad due to food poisoning. Had he not fallen ill, Chris Gayle would have played his first 2020 IPL match during that clash.
“Chris Gayle was going to play the game today, but he’s sick. He’s sick with food poisoning, so he doesn’t play eleven. Anil Kumble had told the commentators during the match against SRH.
And when Chris Gayle didn’t play the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, he surprised several. The team management had not revealed the reason for her absence, as fans expressed surprise at her absence. But a couple of hours after the game ended, Chris Gayle took to Instagram to reveal that he was in the hospital.
The Universe Boss posted a cool photo of himself lying in the hospital bed and wrote:
“I can tell you this !!! I will never go down without a fight !! I am the #UniverseBoss – That will never change !! You can learn from me … but it’s not all I do that you should follow !! Don’t forget my style and my flare too! #LivingDiLife #Always 🇯🇲 Thank you for all your concerns, much appreciated ✊🏿❤️🙏🏿 (I was really on a phone call) 😄 ”
KXIP, however, lost to KKR by two runs to suffer their fifth loss on the trot and sixth loss in seven games. Chasing 165, they finished 115 unbeaten in 15th before an inexplicable hitting performance saw them drop the game.
