Republican President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden held their final debate in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday night, with less than two weeks before the November 3 presidential election.
To avoid a repeat of their first contentious debate, in which Trump repeatedly interrupted Biden, each candidate’s microphone was turned off while their opponent made a statement on an issue. NBC News correspondent Kristen Welker was moderator.
Welker asked how each candidate would pull the country out of the pandemic crisis.

Trump: “We are fighting it and we are fighting it hard… We are turning the corner. He’s leaving … “I got it. I learned a lot… We have to recover. We cannot close our nation. “
Biden: “If you don’t hear anything else, I say tonight, listen to this. Whoever is responsible for so many deaths shouldn’t remain president of the United States of America … This is the same guy who told you this will end on Easter last time. This is the same guy who told you not to worry, we are going to finish this for the summer. We are about to enter a dark winter, a dark winter, and he doesn’t have a clear plan. ”
Trump: “I don’t know if we are going to have a dark winter, and nothing. We are opening up our country. We have learned, studied and understood the disease. “
Biden: “He says, we are, you know, we are learning to live with it. People are learning to die from it. “
