No check-in counters at airports; the service of meals onboard of the aircraft; no more check-in baggage. These are some of the main guidelines issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Thursday after being allowed airlines to operate domestic flights from the beginning of next week.

Only passengers can obtain boarding passes through web check-in. They are also required to download the luggage tag for your check-in baggage, which is limited to a maximum of one suitcase and a handbag.

The airlines are authorized to release the boarding pass only after obtaining a self-declaration of passengers who do not reside in a buffer zone, or have been under quarantine, the ministry guidelines said.

Passengers must also wear a mask at the time of entering into the airport to complete your trip. At the boarding gate, the airline will provide them with a safety kit that includes a three-layer surgical mask, face shield and sanitiser. In the interior of the flight, no meal services are allowed. Water bottles will be available in the gallery area or on the seats. The passengers also are not allowed to consume any kind of food in the interior of the ship. And no newspapers or magazines, will be available on the flight or in the interior of the airport terminals.

Other key standards for the flight of passengers

  • The passenger report at the airport as per the revised reporting time I.and, two hours before departure. Passengers must travel in a licensed taxi cab/personal vehicle, following the rules specified by the MHA
  • The passenger should not travel if he/she is staying in a containment zone. In addition, should not travel if they have tested positive for the COVID-19. Passengers are expected to certify the state of their health through the Aarogya respective eras application or a self-declaration form
  • While waiting in the security hold area must maintain the social distance and the disinfection of the protocols of Chairs marked ‘Not For Use should not be occupied
  • While going around F&B points of sale, etc.. of the passengers to maintain the conditions of hygiene and should be aware that the social distancing and locations where the disinfectant would be available
  • Passengers must dispose of all bio hazardous material such as used masks, gloves, handkerchiefs, etc, in the yellow color disposable containers/bags placed in strategic places in the airport
  • The Check-in the boarding pass would be held by the passenger for the auto – scanning of e-boarding pass
  • Passengers are recommended to minimize the use of the sink and to avoid any non-essential movement in the hallways
  • Avoid the queues in the sink and only one companion for children and the elderly to be allowed
