New Delhi:
Delhi police said today that their investigation into an “overseas conspiracy” entangled in farmers’ protests was not against Greta Thunberg, but a “toolkit” that she had tweeted, allegedly linked to a “Khalistani group” .
“Delhi Police have learned of a toolkit document found on an older social media identifier and indicates a copycat execution of a conspiracy behind the January 26 violence. The call was for an economic warfare. , Social, Cultural and Regional Against India, “Delhi Special Police Commissioner Praveer Ranjan said, referring to a Republic Day tractor demonstration that turned into chaos and clashes in the capital.
“We have registered a case to spread discontent against the government of India, it is about sedition, and disharmony between groups for religious, social and cultural reasons, and criminal conspiracy to shape such a plan,” added the official.
When asked if Greta Thunberg, 18, had been appointed to the FIR, she clarified: “We have not appointed anyone to the FIR. It is only against the creators of the toolbox.”
When pressured by reporters to specify who shared the toolkit, Ranjan said, “You guys know. I don’t want to name you here.”
Greta Thunberg tweeted a “toolkit” last night to support the farmers’ protest, but this focused on the Republic Day protests last week. She deleted the post after a while.
This morning, the Swedish climate activist published a new “toolkit” with the message: “Here is a toolkit updated by people on the ground in India if they want to help (they deleted their old document because it was out of date).” The new document called for protests on February 13 and 14.

Delhi Police said the creator of the “toolkits”, an organization calling itself the Poetic Justice Foundation, is a Khalistani group.
“This toolkit has a particular section titled ‘Action Plan.’ It says that digital strikes should be carried out via hashtags on or before January 26, then tweet storms from January 23 onwards; physical action on January 26; and he says be careful or join farmers going to Delhi and back to the borders, “said Ranjan.
“If you look at the development of the events of January 26, a copycat execution of the action plan is revealed. It is a matter of concern for the Delhi police. Definitely, the intention of the creators of the toolbox was to create discord between various social organizations, religious and cultural groups and fomenting discontent and ill will against the government of India. “
In reaction to the police case, Greta Thunberg tweeted: “I follow #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest. No amount of hatred, threats or human rights violations will change that. #LarmersProtest.”
The young activist is among several international figures who have tweeted in support of farmers’ protests over the past two days, drawing global attention to the unrest that began in late November against three farm laws enacted by the center.
It began with a post Tuesday night from pop star Rihanna, who has 100 million followers on Twitter. As several US lawmakers and others followed suit, the government issued a scathing statement yesterday warning against the “temptation of social media hashtags and tabloid comments.” In a detailed statement, he said the protests were by “a very small sector of farmers” in parts of India, and that the farm laws were aimed at reforms and were enacted after a full debate in parliament.
