KPCC President DK Shivakumar has welcomed the decision of Interior Minister Basavaraj Bommai to carry out a detailed investigation into the alleged suicide attempt of NR Santosh, political secretary to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
“Basavaraja Bommai has said that a detailed investigation will be conducted in the case of NR Sanntosh’s attempted suicide, I welcome his statement. This is the first thing that should happen, I brought this issue into the public domain because of the inside information I had, ”said Sivakumar.
The KPCC chief’s statement comes a day after he demanded an investigation into Santosh’s alleged suicide attempt.
“According to my information, all I heard was that the Chief Minister’s political secretary, NR Santosh, distributed a confidential video to an MLC and a minister. Later, it was also given to the high command of the BJP ”, the Congress leader had said.
“That MLC and the minister were blackmailing the prime minister and the government leaders. It has been going on for the past few months. The alleged suicide attempt of the Chief Minister’s political secretary is no small problem. It must be investigated properly, the investigation should not be carried out by the (state) government ”, he had said.
Santosh was hospitalized on Friday after he allegedly attempted suicide.
He was admitted to Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in Bengaluru and suspected of using sleeping pills. Yediyurappa visited the hospital and inquired about Santosh’s health, relatives said.
The Chief Minister said he will speak with him and his family members once he is better, a Santosh relative had said.
