Karnataka Congressional Unit Chairman DK Shivakumar said on Saturday that he received a subpoena from the CBI in connection with a disproportionate assets case, and will appear before the investigating agency on November 25.

“It is true that the CBI issued a subpoena, on November 19. The CBI agents had come to my house to issue subpoenas, but we were not here because we were attending a personal event. The next morning when I arrived home, they issued me a summons, “said DK Shivakumar.

Speaking to reporters, he said that CBI has asked him to appear on November 23 at around 4 p.m., but it will not be possible that day, as he, along with the party leader of the Congress legislature, Siddaramaiah, will be touring the electoral districts of Maski and Basavakalyana, where voting takes place. it will probably be announced soon.

“Starting tomorrow I will be visiting Hospete (Ballari), Maski (Raichur), Basavakalyana (Bidar). I will return on November 25. I have officially announced that I can appear in the afternoon of that day and I have also spoken with CBI officials. over the phone and they have accepted it, “he added.

On November 19, Shivakumar’s daughter, Aishwarya, had become engaged to the grandson of the senior BJP leader, SM Krishnas, and the son of the late Coffee Day Café founder VG Siddhartha, Amartya.

As of October 5, CBI had searched 14 locations, including Karnataka, Delhi and Mumbai at locations linked to Mr. Shivakumar and others.

The investigating agency had said that the searches led to the recovery of Rs 57 lakh in cash and various documents, including proprietary documents, bank related information, computer hard drive, etc., and the investigation is continuing.

The CBI had also registered a case against Mr. Shivakumar and his family members on charges of possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 74.93 million.
