New Delhi: Dalip Singh Rana, better known by his ring name ‘The Great Khali’, came out in support of the agitated farmers and joined the protests against the new farm laws on the Tikri border on Tuesday (Dec 1, 2020) .
In a video that the former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion shared on his official Instagram account, he said: “The farmers will not return until their demands are met. They have produced a ration that will last six months.”
Khali, who reportedly joined the protests on the Tikri border, captioned the video as ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ and also briefly explained the losses a farmer would face due to the new agricultural laws.
He urged everyone to support the farmers so that the government agrees with the farmers’ demands and also said: “The farmers of Haryana and Punjab are ‘very tough.’
Khali is not the first famous face to come out in support of farmers, as various Punjabi actors, players, wrestlers, and folk singers have also supported farmers’ protests.

Early Tuesday, the Center met with leaders of protesting farmers’ unions to discuss their concerns about the new farm laws.
The more than three-hour dialogue between a group of more than 32 farmers’ union leaders and the government remained inconclusive and the fourth round of talks is scheduled for Thursday (December 3).
Notably, the farmers’ protest has entered the seventh consecutive day on Wednesday.
The reason behind the widespread protests are these three new laws: the Agricultural Products Trade and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Act of 2020, the Farmers’ Agreement (Empowerment and Protection) on Price Assurance and the Agricultural Services Act of 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.
