If you’re late for the party, Desi Twitter chose singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh as its GOAT on Thursday after the actor chose to fire shots one after another aimed at Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut in shuddh Punjabi.
The war of words began on Wednesday when Dosanjh attacked Ranaut for misidentifying an elderly Sikh woman from the farmers’ protest as Bilkis Bano from Shaheen Bagh and falsely claiming that the woman had joined the protest for 100 rupees.
Although Ranaut had removed the tweet post from the massive online backlash, the damage had already been done and Ranaut was widely criticized for misinformation.

After many back and forth between the two, Dosanjh was collectively chosen as the winner of the Twitter feud for Indian Twitter, many of which also crowned the Punjabi singer with the title of GOAT (the best of all time). . The honor didn’t just come out of nowhere, it was a cheeky reference to Dosanjh’s album “GOAT” that he released earlier this year.
A quick Google search was further testament to desi jantaThe sudden interest in Dosanjh’s album when he faced Ranaut in a one-on-one showdown. Shock It was also the song from the same album that found a mention in various memes mocking Ranaut.
However, his songs weren’t the only things related to the singer who saw a spike in the last 24 hours or so. As the dispute between the two actors was in full flow, Dosanjh’s social media accounts subsequently exploded.
Dosanjh’s Twitter following saw a significant increase on Wednesday and Thursday, compared to normal days after his name continued to trend on the microblogging site.

Interestingly, Dosanjh’s responses were mostly, if not all, in Punjabi, but that didn’t stop his tweet responses from going viral, as several Punjabi-speaking netizens chimed in to fill in word-for-word translations.
