Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh joined farmers’ protests on the Delhi border on Saturday and urged the government to comply with their demands. It is also said that he donated Rs 1 crore to buy warm clothes for the protesters.
Diljit has openly supported farmers, who are currently protesting and negotiating with the Center to have certain agricultural laws repealed. Diljit got into a Twitter feud with actress Kangana Ranaut earlier this week, over comments she made about the ongoing protests.
Addressing the farmers on the Singhu border, he said: “My hat is off to all of you farmers, you have created a new story. This story would be told to future generations. Farmers’ problems shouldn’t be diverted by anyone. “
He added: “We only have one request from the Center … please meet the demands of our farmers. Everyone is sitting here in peace and the whole country is with the farmers. This agitation is about farmers. Things are twisted on Twitter but the truth is that farmers are protesting peacefully, no one talks about bloodshed here.

Expressing his gratitude, Singga said in Punjabi: “Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore for the farmers, for their warm clothes, and no one knows. You didn’t post about it. Today people can’t shut up after donating 10 rupees. “
