Diljit was in the news in recent days for her war on Twitter with actress Kangana Ranaut. The actor won over fans and netizens with his low-key responses to all of the actress’s posts.

#DiljitVSKangana, #DiljitDestroysKangana, and many other similar topics have taken over major trends on the microblogging site days after their dispute. Diljit’s tweets defending the farmers’ protests reportedly not only won hearts, but also won her over 4 lakh, new followers, on social media.

The actor came on the scene Thursday when he criticized Kangana for misidentifying an elderly woman, who had joined the farmers’ protest, as Bilkis Bano from the Shaheen Bagh protest. He also shared a video of the old woman in question, revealing that she was Mahinder Kaur.

Although Kangana had deleted her post, she attacked Diljit and called him the “mascot” of filmmaker Karan Johar. While the actress had her loyal fans lend their support, Diljit received additional endorsement from celebrities, Twitter users, and fans.

Ranaut, on the other hand, has received a legal notice for its publication that has been considered ‘derogatory’. On top of that, another even filed a judicial petition in the Bombay High Court seeking instructions to suspend her Twitter account.
