Chidambaram noted that after mocking Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for his promise to create 1 million jobs in the state, the NDA itself promised to create 1.9 million jobs in Bihar.

“After mocking the RJD for promising to create 10 lakhs of jobs, the NDA has promised to create 19 lakhs of jobs in Bihar if elected. I didn’t know that 19 was a number less than 10. I think I should go back to primary school, ”Chidambaram, a former Union Finance Minister, said in a tweet.

The BJP, in the presence of the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Chairman of the State Unit Satish Sanjay Jaiswal and the National Secretary General Bhupendra Yadav, published its 11-point manifesto in which it promised to create 1.9 million jobs working in various sectors in Bihar if elected. “If we summarize, we will create jobs for 1.9 million people in the next five years,” Jaiswal had said Thursday.

The manifesto also stated that 100,000 jobs will be provided in the health sector, comprising the recruitment of 10,000 doctors and 50,000 paramedics along with the establishment of a second All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

With reference to the empowerment of women, which has been an important theme in this assembly election, the BJP committed to making 100 million women in the state self-sufficient in the next five years through the creation of groups of self-help (GAA).

The 2020 Bihar Assembly elections will be held in three phases starting on October 28. The second and third phases will take place on November 3 and November 7, respectively, and the vote count will take place on November 10.
