Dharavi Sees 16 New COVID-19 Cases Increase; Dadar’s active cases drop to 283


Mumbai: The G / North Ward, including Dharavi, Mahim Y Dadar, is the second most affected district of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of the 24 administrative districts.

So far, the neighborhood has registered 11,565 coronavirus cases, which includes 10,166 recoveries and 796 active cases, according to official information provided by BMC.

The numbers are rising once again in Dharavi after having dropped to just two cases in a single day a couple of months ago. The slum group reported 16 new cases Thursday.

The total number of cases in Asia’s largest slum now stands at 3,459, while the number of active cases stands at 135. The area has witnessed a steady increase in the number of recoveries, which has now risen to 3,016.

Maharashtra Police Report 70 New COVID-19 Cases

The total number of coronavirus cases in the force is 25,988 of which 1,771 are active patients. A total of 23,945 people have recovered and 272 deaths have been recorded from the disease.

On the other hand, 29 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Mahim on Thursday, bringing the tally to 3,893.

However, 3,380 people have been cured and discharged and so far there are 378 active cases in the area.

In Dadar, there was an increase of 23 new cases on Thursday and with that, the area’s case count rose to 4,213.

At least 3,770 patients have recovered in the region, while 283 are currently in treatment.
