Mumbai / New Delhi:
BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, who is in charge of the party’s Bihar state election campaign, tested positive for coronavirus. In a tweet this afternoon, the former chief minister of Maharashtra wrote: “God wants me to stop for a while and take a break!”
He also urged all those who have recently been in contact with him to get tested for the coronavirus, which has affected more than 78 lakh people in India.
“I have been working every day since the lockdown, but now it seems that God wants me to stop for a while and take a break! I have tested positive for # COVID19 and in isolation. Taking all medications and treatments according to the advice of the doctors, “read Fadnavis’ tweet. The government announced one of the world’s strictest lockdowns in March to control the spread of the coronavirus.
Those who have contacted me are advised to get tested for covid19.

“Those who have contacted me are advised to get tested for covid19. Take care everyone! (Sic),” read another tweet.
Last month, Devendra Fadnavis was appointed BJP in charge of the Bihar elections, the largest ballot boxes to be held in the country since the start of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, Bihar’s Chief Deputy Minister Sushil Modi announced that he had contracted the highly infectious disease, days after he conducted a joint campaign with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, 69, in Buxar and Bhojpur.
The three-phase elections for the 243-member state assembly will begin next week on Wednesday (October 28). The second and third phases will take place on November 3 and 7 and the results will be announced on November 10.
Earlier this week, the BJP released its poll manifesto, promising “free coronavirus vaccination for all.” The promise of the poll, however, drew criticism from opposition leaders of all parties.
However, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the announcement was perfectly in order and that a party can announce what it wants to do when it comes to power.
