India said on Thursday that despite repeated calls for restraint and adherence to the 2003 ceasefire agreement, Pakistani forces continue to provide supporting covering fire to infiltrators.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA), Anurag Srivastava, said that the incessant infiltration of terrorists and the induction of weapons to fuel terrorist activities continues unabated.
Such activities are not possible without the support of Pakistani forces deployed along the Line of Control (LoC), he said in an online briefing.
“Despite repeated calls for restraint and compliance with the 2003 ceasefire agreement … Pakistani forces remain committed to providing cover fire to support infiltrators,” Srivastava said. He said that the Charge d’Affaires of the High Commission of Pakistan was summoned by the MEA on November 14 and a strong protest was filed for unprovoked violations of the ceasefire.
