Bangalore: The Chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF), RKS Bhadauria, made a sortie in the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) in Bangalore today. The outing lasted 45 minutes.

On Thursday, Bhadauria had conducted a sortie in a newly incorporated Apache attack helicopter. He was on a two-day visit to the western part of the country. He also reviewed the operational readiness of the combat squads in the sector.

“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal, RKS Bhadauria paid a two-day visit to the air bases under Western Air Command on November 17 and 18. He interacted with the Air Warriors who serve at these bases During the visit, he flew a sortie with Apache Squad, “the IAF said in a tweet.

Two LCH deployed in Leh: HAL

The LCH is scheduled to be incorporated into the Indian defense forces in the near future. According to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the LCH was proposed to meet the IAF requirement for a dedicated light helicopter for combat operations.

On Thursday, HAL had said that two of the agency-developed LCHs had been deployed to Leh at high altitudes in light of the prevailing situation along the Royal Line of Control (LAC).

“It is the world’s lightest attack helicopter designed and developed by HAL to meet the specific and unique requirements of the Indian Armed Forces, reflecting HAL’s crucial role in Atma Nirbhar Bharat ‘,” said CMD R HAL’s Madhavan according to the news agency.
