He said that on the night of May 1, after Dass had fallen asleep, he called his lover, Sanjay, and asked him to come to the house. The duo smothered Dass to death with a blanket, he said. The next morning, he decided to incinerate the body and told neighbors that he may have died from the coronavirus.
