Coronavirus: Delhi Police Said They Will Send COVID-19 Vaccination Details To Their Staff By SMS

Delhi police will start vaccinating their staff against COVID-19 soon and details will be sent to them via SMS, police said in an order to all district heads of the force today.
“The COVID-19 vaccination of Delhi police staff will start soon. The date, time and place of vaccination of each police member will be informed on their mobile phone number by SMS,” the officer said Police chief Muktesh Chander, who is also the nodal officer for the COVID-19 action plan, said in the order.
“Therefore, it is important that the mobile number of all police personnel is entered and updated in the PIS system in the IntraDP system. All district and unit heads must complete this exercise by January 3, 2021 positively so that no one is left out of DCP / IT will email all concerned a list of staff whose mobile phone numbers are not available in the PIS system, “said Chander.
The Delhi Police’s announcement to its staff also brings clarity on how other people are likely to be contacted for COVID-19 vaccination. Delhi police personnel, as well as healthcare workers, are some of the most vulnerable to COVID-19 infection as they must be deployed in public places 24 hours a day.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that a total of 51 lakh people from three priority groups will be vaccinated in the first phase in the national capital, and their data was sent to the center.
This includes three lakhs from healthcare workers and six lakhs from frontline workers such as police and civil defense personnel. The third category is that of those over 50 years of age and those under 50 who have comorbidities; There are 42 lakhs of people in this category.
Thousands of police officers have tested positive since the pandemic reached the national capital, and there have been several deaths from COVID-19 in the force.
The country is preparing to first vaccinate frontline medical workers and those directly involved in the fight against COVID-19.
The Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech have both applied for emergency use approval in India, but have been asked for more data. Pfizer had also submitted an application to the Comptroller General of Drugs of India, but has not yet made a submission. Moderna has yet to be presented.
The country’s largest airport in Delhi is also preparing to handle the distribution of hundreds of thousands of vials of the COVID-19 vaccine under the “Sanjivani Project” starting next month.
On Tuesday, Delhi Airport Executive Director Videh Kumar Jaipuriya said they have contacted the government and that “as directed by the government, we should be ready for distribution sometime in January.”
Jaipuriya told NDTV that the cargo terminal at Indira Gandhi International Airport has been assigned to store and transport the temperature-sensitive vaccines.
