New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell has received information that the truck driver and cleaner who participated in the Nagrotra terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir were conspiring with terrorists. The two were picked up in Delhi and interrogated, but were turned over to their family as nothing was found during the interrogation, the sources said.
Four terrorists affiliated with the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were neutralized on November 19 at the Nagrota meeting. They infiltrated India from the Samba sector on November 18-19 to carry out a Pulwama-scale terrorist attack under the orders of Maulana Masood Azhar’s brother, Abdul Rauf Asgar, and commissioned by the Pakistani spy agency Inter-Services. The encounter broke out after a truck was intercepted during a routine check in the morning. Mukesh Singh, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, had said that the truck driver fled the scene.
“During the search, CRPF soldiers and police were shot with heavy ammunition and grenades were also thrown. More forces were called in and the encounter lasted for 3 hours,” said the IG.
The DDC elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in eight phases between November 28 and December 19, with the vote counting taking place on December 22.
