New Delhi:

The Delhi Metro resumed full services today with the reopening of the Airport Express line after being closed for more than 170 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All corridors of the Metro network are already in operation and the hours of services will follow the hours before COVID-19 from 6 am to 11 pm

“With the resumption of service on the Airport Express Line, all lines in the Delhi metro network are open! Remember to follow the guidelines when traveling. #MetroBackOnTrack,” the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted.

On Monday, the Delhi Metro had resumed services with restricted operation of the Yellow Line and Rapid Metro.

Metro services were closed on March 22 to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.

The Home Office had recently issued guidelines allowing the Delhi Metro to resume operations in a phased manner, after which the DMRC had said it would be done in three stages from 7 to 12 September.

In stage one, the Yellow Line or Line 2 and Rapid Metro were put into operation with restricted service hours. Stage two began on Friday with extended service hours, and stage three went into effect as of today, with Metro services returning to the pre-COVID-19 schedule from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
