The Delhi Metro resumed services on two of its lines starting at 7 am on Wednesday. Trains began running on the 65.35 km Blue Line, which connects Sector 21 of Dwarka and Vaishali / Noida Electronic City, and on the 57.58 km Pink Line, which connects Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar.
Travelers were seen arriving early at the stations, where they encountered three levels of controls and disinfection before they were allowed to enter the station premises. With the opening of more lines, the Delhi Metro will also face the task of crowd management, but officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said they are prepared to handle the freight without compromising SOP.
Since Monday, the Delhi Metro had resumed services in a staggered fashion after an interval of 169 days. The first line to be opened was the Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli to Huda city center) and the Metro Rapid at Gurugram.
Also on Wednesday, services will be available to passengers at two shift times: from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entry and exit will be restricted at stations, and travelers can check which doors will remain open. on the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation website, www.delhimetrorail.com.
“As part of the gradual resumption of stage one of Metro’s services, the Delhi Metro has resumed operations on the Blue and Pink lines.
