Delhi likely to see light to moderate rains today: IMD – delhi news

After a hot and humid day, Delhi is likely to ease from the heat with light to moderate showers and electric showers by Sunday. Also, gusts of wind are likely to keep the weather pleasant throughout the day, officials from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

IMD scientists said wind gusts with a speed of 30 to 40 km / h are likely to blow over Delhi, which can also reduce mercury.

“The monsoon trough is passing through Delhi, which is expected to result in light to moderate rains in various parts of the city. Light rains are expected even on Monday. However, a good streak of rain is expected to hit Delhi between 1 and 2 September, when the depression will be close to the northern region, “said a senior scientist at IMD.

On Saturday, the daytime temperature was set at 35 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal. This was despite the fact that Delhi received moderate rains on Friday. The nighttime temperature was 24.8 degrees C, two levels below normal.

The scientists said that the heat and a feeling of discomfort were felt mainly due to the high humidity levels and the bright sun in the absence of a cloud layer. The night, however, was cooler with the trough approaching, which brought good winds.

According to the forecast for Sunday, good winds and rain are likely to keep daytime (high) and nighttime (low) temperatures around 33 and 25 degrees C, respectively.

According to IMD officials, with incessant rains in the last week in the city, August has been recorded as the second wettest in 12 years.
