Delhi HC stays with CIC order directing IAF to provide information on PM visits abroad | India News


NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court On Friday the operation of a Central Information Commission (CIC) order address indian air force to provide information about Returns from special flights (SRF) -II, which contains details of the prime minister’s entourage in his Trips abroad.
Judge Navin Chawla said that information requested by the RTI applicant regarding details of ministry or department officials who accompanied the prime minister on a trip cannot be disclosed, but there was no harm in providing details about the number of passengers on flights.
the cut also issued a notice to RTI applicant (retired) Commodore Lokesh K Batra and requested his position on the IAF appeal against the CIC leadership on July 8.
the cut listed the matter for an additional hearing on April 12, 2021, and suspended the operation of the CIC leadership until then.
He noted that the CIC should have been clearer as to what information can be provided and what is exempted under the Right to Information Act (RTI).
