Delhi Government To Transfer COVID-19 Patients From Hindu Rao Hospital To Government Run Hospitals

The Delhi government has ordered the transfer of COVID-19 patients admitted to the Hindu Rao Hospital of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) to any Delhi government hospital, as doctors and staff of the former have notified a strike, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Saturday.

The NDMC is governed by the BJP.

“The Hindu Rao Hospital is run by a municipal corporation and doctors and staff have reported a strike. We have ordered the transfer of COVID-19 patients in the hospital to the Delhi government hospital, ”he said, adding that there are 20 COVID-19 patients in the hospital.

He said the corporation is not paying employees’ salaries, despite having funds.

“BJP is doing politics, we have now also told them that if they cannot run the hospital then give us the hospital. There is no shortage of funds (in corporations). They collect a lot of money in taxes, but there is no account of where it goes, ”Jain said.
