The Netflix series Delhi Crime won the award for Best Dramatic Series at the 2020 International Emmy Awards on Monday. Creator Richie Mehta and actors Shefali Shah, Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang, among others, took to social media to express their joy on this momentous occasion as other members of the film industry congratulated them.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who is still on top of the success of Scam 1992, congratulated the Delhi Crime team and shared on Twitter: “This is totally, totally deserved. Delhi Crime is loosely based on the investigation of the 2012 gang rape that occurred in Delhi.

Upon receiving the award, creator Richie Mehta said, “I dedicate this award to all women who not only endure the violence that so many men inflict on them, but are then tasked with solving the problem. Finally, to the tireless mother and her daughter. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about the two of you and what the world put down on you two. And I hope none of us forget that. “
