Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal performed Diwali Pujan at the Akshardham Temple on Saturday night along with Senior Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia and other members of his cabinet. The pujan began at 7.39 pm and the evening was broadcast live.

CM Kejriwal had previously announced that he will participate in Diwali Pujan together with his cabinet colleagues. The prime minister had also asked people not to set off firecrackers at the festival.

Kejriwal on Wednesday had shared a video message on Twitter, inviting people to virtually join him for the pujan. “As two crore of Delhiites will perform Lakshmi Pujan together, wonderful vibrations will be created throughout Delhi and all visible and invisible forces will bless them,” he had said.

The prime minister had greeted the people on Diwali, invoking the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi on their lives. Happy Diwali everyone. May the blessings of Ma Lakshmi be with you all the time, ”Kejriwal wrote on Twitter in Hindi.

Following the deterioration of the air quality in the city, the Delhi government has imposed a total ban on the sale, purchase and explosion of firecrackers until November 30.
