Delhi: Approximately 51 lakh people will receive Covid vaccine in the first phase | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Thursday that all the necessary preparations to begin vaccination against Covid-19 have been made in the national capital.
More than 50 lakh people, including frontline and healthcare workers, will be inoculated in Phase-1.
“The Delhi government has completed all preparations and is ready for vaccination. There are around 51 lakh people, including frontline and healthcare workers, who would receive the vaccine in the first phase. The process of identifying all those people is almost complete, “said the chief minister of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal.
Currently, Delhi has the capacity to store around 74 lakh doses of the vaccine.
“We would need 1.02 crore of vaccine doses for the first vaccination phase, since each person will receive two doses. We have the capacity to store 74 lakh doses, but that will increase to 1.15 crore in one week,” he added Kejriwal.
In a great relief to health agencies in Delhi, the national capital has seen fewer than 1,000 positive cases in the past three days.
