Deepika received a subpoena while the agency was investigating some WhatsApp conversations that allegedly discussed prohibited drugs.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been summoned by the Bureau of Narcotics Crimes in connection with the drug nexus the agency is investigating in connection with the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Along with Deepika, actors Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Simone Khambatta have also been summoned.
Deepika received a subpoena after some WhatsApp conversations allegedly discussing cannabis were on the agency’s radar. The news channels had accessed alleged WhatsApp chats between Deepika and her manager Karishna, who works for the Kwan talent agency.
In chats, a person named D says, “… Maal, you have.” To which, Karishma responds: “I have but at home. I’m in Bandra … “Then Karishma is seen saying,” I can ask Amit if you want. ”
The federal drug agency has already summoned the executive director of talent management agency KWAN, Dhurv Chitgopekar, in connection with its investigation.
During the investigation, NCB questioned Jaya Saha, who was Sushant’s talent manager, who also works with Kwan. It was from Jaya’s phone that the conversations allegedly recovered.
The CBI has also recorded the statement of Saha and Sushant’s manager, Shruti Modi, on several occasions during the ongoing investigation.
So far, the NCB has arrested more than 12 people, including Rajput’s girlfriend and actress, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, in connection with the investigation into the angle of drugs in the case of the actor’s death.
Rajput (34) was found dead at his home in the Bandra area of Mumbai on June 14.
