The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is investigating the link between Bollywood and drugs, summoned actress Deepika Padukone on Wednesday and top sources informed Republic TV that the actor is pressuring manager Karishma Prakash not to disclose details to NCB. Sources have also revealed that Deepika blames Karishma Prakash and Jaya Saha for “revealing drug secrets.” Deepika has been called in to record her statement on Friday, September 25.
Previously, Padukone manager Karishma Prakash was summoned to join the investigation, but sought time due to health concerns and requested a waiver of appearance until Friday. Sources have now informed Republic TV that Karishma is currently with Deepika in Goa.
Meanwhile, Deepika minutes after receiving the subpoena called a 12-member legal team in Mumbai via video conference to seek advice, according to sources. Ranveer Singh also joined the video call with Deepika’s lawyers, the sources added. Sources further revealed that Padukone will depart Goa today at 7pm, and is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai tonight.

Deepika Padukone’s name came up in one of the WhatsApp chats where the actor allegedly asks a ‘K’ for ‘maal, hash’ who was later confirmed as his manager, Karishma Prakash. The chats accessed are from October 2017 and show Deepika asking for “maal” from ‘K’ who replies that she has it, but at home. Also, ‘K’ says that he can ask ‘Amit’ if he wants it, since “he carries it.” Deepika also clarifies that she needs “Hash” and not “marijuana” while the two discuss the logistics.

Top Stars summoned by NCB
In addition to Deepika Padukone, the NCB has also summoned Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh for questioning. Shruti Modi and Simone Khambata, have also been summoned by the Office of Narcotics Control on Wednesday in the ongoing Bollywood drug investigation. Rakul and Simone have been called up for September 24th.
