Can you believe 13 years have passed since the box office success of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone? Om Shanti Om released in theaters? The film, directed by Farah Khan, marked Deepika Padukone’s Bollywood debut. On the 13th anniversary of Om Shanti Om, which premiered on November 9, 2007, the actress grew nostalgic and dedicated her Instagram as well as her Twitter nickname to Shantipriya, the name of her character in the 2007 film. In the reincarnation and revenge drama, Deepika Padukone played the dual role of the 70s actress named Shantipriya and Sandhya, a modern woman. On Monday, Deepika also changed her viewing image on Instagram: it is currently a photo of the actress and Shah Rukh Khan from her movie.

Deepika Padukone was modeling when she was cast to Om Shanti Om. She walked down the ramp of the late designer Wendell Rodricks, at whose suggestion Malaika Arora passed the actress’s name to Farah Khan for her 2007 film. For her performance in Om Shanti Om, Deepika also took home the Filmfare award for best female debut.

Om Shanti Om He also starred in Arjun Rampal, Kiron Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Javed Sheikh, and Yuvika Chaudhary, among others. Many other celebrities like Rekha and Salman Khan made guest appearances in the film for different dance sequences.
