Deepika Padukone denied using or acquiring drugs during her questioning by the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) on Saturday, sources told Republic. The actress had been confronted with her chats where she was seen asking for ‘maal’ and ‘hash’, during her questioning, and had accepted them, sources said yesterday, adding that the NCB team is not satisfied with her responses. The investigating agency is ready to verify the statement with the data, as officials also confiscated her phone.

Deepika Padukone interrogated by NCB
The NCB will examine Deepika Padukone’s denial about the consumption and acquisition of medicines, with her digital data that has been recovered and the statements of the other people related to her. Following her questioning for nearly 6 hours at the NCB guesthouse on Saturday, officers were not satisfied with her responses and felt she was ‘evasive and tutored’. They have not given him a clean note, nor have they ruled out future calls or clashes, the sources said.
Deepika Padukone had been confronted along with her manager Karishma Prakash, who appeared for questioning a second time on Saturday. Deepika’s ‘bad’ conversation had been with Karishma, who also works with KWAN, the talent management agency that manages the actor. Other members of the company were also present in a group called ‘DP + Ka + KWAN’, including Jaya Saha.

The company had come under the lens of the questioning of talent manager Jaya Saha. KWAN’s founding partner, Dhruv Chitgopekar, has also been questioned by the investigation.
Meanwhile, one day after the questioning of Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were also questioned by the OCN. According to sources, even their phones and those of Simone Khambata, Karishma Prakash and Jaya Saha have been confiscated by the OCN. Sara was also asked about his phones used in 2017 and 2018, to which he replied that he was not aware.
In the statement to the media, the OCN refused to release too much information, but claimed that no further subpoenas had been issued to the actors. Officers will present the report to the court on Sunday. NCB (Southwest Region) Deputy Director General Mutha Ashok Jain also confirmed the arrest of Kshitij Prasad, and that he will be presented in court on Sunday.
