Decision on foreign funds to 'break the path' of the Golden Temple: Amit Shah

Interior Minister Amit Shah said today that the decision on the 2010 Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act is groundbreaking and will once again show the outstanding spirit of service of the Sikh community.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is blessed to have Seva taken from him by Wahe Guru ji. The decision on the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010 in the Sri Harmandir Sahib is a pioneer one that will once again show the outstanding spirit of service of our Sikh sisters and brothers, “Amit Shah tweeted.

“The divinity of Sri Darbar Sahib gives us strength. For decades, the Sangat around the world could not serve there. The decision of the Modi government to allow the FCRA to the Sri Harmandir Sahib deepens the connection of Seva between the Sangat globally and the Sri Darbar Sahib. A blessed moment! ” added.

The Home Office has granted registration under the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act 2010 to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib-Darbar Sahib, Punjab, which will be valid for five years, the sources said.

This will allow them to receive foreign funds to perform services.

FCRA, 2010 has been promulgated by Parliament to consolidate the law to regulate the acceptance and use of foreign contributions or foreign hospitality by certain individuals, associations or companies and to prohibit the acceptance and use of foreign contributions or foreign hospitality for any activity detrimental to interest and to matters related to it or incidental to it.
