CBSE Board Exam 2021 Date: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has yet to make a final decision regarding the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams that will take place next year. The CBSE 2021 board review will be conducted in offline mode or in writing, when and when they are conducted, said board spokesman Rama Sharma. CBSE officials said Wednesday that consultations on the dates for the test are still ongoing.

Board officials also said that if students were unable to sit for practical exams in classes before the exams, alternative testing methods will be explored.




“No final decision has been made regarding the dates for conducting the board reviews, and stakeholder consultations are still ongoing. The reviews, as they are conducted, will be conducted in written and not online. Exams are conducted following all COVID protocols, “said a senior CBSE official.

“In the event that students are unable to carry out practices in classes before exams, alternatives to practical exams will have to be explored,” added the official.

Interaction of the Minister of Education with students regarding the board and entrance exams

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ previously said that he will engage with education stakeholders on December 10 regarding upcoming board exams. The minister and his ministry have asked students, parents and teachers to submit their comments using #EducationMinisterGoesLive on Twitter.

The entrance and board examinations will be held only after proper consultation with students, teachers and parents, the minister said.

CBSE Board Exam 2021: What Happened So Far

Without an official announcement, students, in November, began asking for clarity on the dates of the CBSE 2021 board exam. A few days later, CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi said in a webinar that the board exams they will take place with security in 2021 and the dates will be announced soon.

Shortly after the announcement, media reports claimed that CBSE had released a tentative schedule for the Class 12 board practical exams and, according to the claims, the CBSE Class 12 practical exams will take place between January 1 and on February 8, 2021.

A board official later confirmed to NDTV that the board had not yet made any official announcement regarding the dates of the exams.

However, CBSE has published sample articles for upcoming board reviews. The documents, along with the rating schemes, are available on the board’s website.

Meeting of the Minister of Education with senior officials

On November 26, Pokhriyal held a review meeting with the secretaries of higher and secondary education and other officials from his ministry. At the meeting, the minister ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to review the academic situation in the state and central educational boards before finalizing the study program for the entrance exams.

At the same meeting, it was decided that the Ministry of Education will invite suggestions from students, parents and teachers about taking exams in 2021.

Schools across the country were closed in March to contain the spread of COVID-19 and partially reopened in some states as of October 15. However, some states decided to keep them closed in light of an increase in infections.

The board examinations that were taking place in March had to be postponed midway. The exams were later canceled and the results were announced based on an alternate evaluation plan.

Competitive exams like JEE and NEET were also postponed twice this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

There have been demands for the postponement of the CBSE board exams until May 2021, in view of the continued closure of schools and the teaching-learning activities are completely online.

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) -main for admission to engineering colleges across the country will likely take place in February rather than January, according to officials.
