Panaji: In the latest development in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput, the Directorate of Execution posted a notice at Gaurav Arya’s hotel in Goa on Friday asking him to join the investigation by 31 August.
The central investigative agency, investigating the alleged money laundering allegations in connection with the case of the late actor’s death, posted the notice at Gaurav Arya’s The Tamarind hotel in Anjuna, Goa.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday registered a case against Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, Gaurav Arya, Jaya Saha, Sushant’s co-manager Shruti Modi. The case has been registered pursuant to articles 20 (b) 28 and 29 of the Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
As the banned drugs angle emerged on the sensational death case and allegations were brought against Arya, the hotelier spoke exclusively with Times now and stated categorically that he had no association of any kind with Rea and Sushant.
The ED obtained “deleted WhatsApp messages” allegedly indicating prohibited drug deals and talks about drug acquisition and use.
The drugs angle came to light after Rhea’s WhatsApp conversations in March 2017 with Arya picked up. The messages revealed that he had asked Arya about MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine).
Sushant was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14.
Initially, the Mumbai police had said that Sushant had committed suicide. However, the late actor’s father, KK Singh, submitted an FIR to the Patna police on July 25 and accused Rhea of being an accessory to her son’s suicide. Rhea’s parents, Indrajit Chakraborty and Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Showik Chakraborty, and mutual friends Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi were appointed to the FIR.
After much political dispute between the governments of Bihar and Maharashtra, the Supreme Court ordered the IWC to investigate the case. The Center had approved a CBI investigation into Sushnat’s death on the recommendation of the Bihar government, a decision vehemently opposed by the Maharashtra government.
