The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Monday that the investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput is still ongoing and that the agency is investigating all aspects.
Rajput’s lawyer had recently questioned the central agency’s investigation into the actor’s death, saying the investigation was veering in a different direction.
“All attention is being diverted to the drug case. Today, we are defenseless because we do not know in which direction the case is going. To this day, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has not held a press conference on what they have discovered, ”said Rajput lawyer Vikas Singh. quoted by ANI on Friday.
In its response, the CBI assured that the probe was on and that nothing was ruled out yet.
“The Central Bureau of Investigation is conducting a professional investigation into the death of Shri Sushant Singh Rajput in which all aspects are being analyzed and no aspects have been ruled out to date,” the agency said in a statement.
On June 14, the 34-year-old actor was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. Rajput’s father, KK Singh, filed a complaint with the Patna police on 25 June against Rhea Chakraborty, her parents and her brother Showik. The late actor’s family also named then-Rajput manager Shruti Modi and house manager Samuel Miranda in the complaint.
The FIR was later transferred to CBI. In addition to CBI, the case is also being investigated by two other central agencies: the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Office (NCB).
While ED is investigating the money laundering allegations, the NCB is investigating the drug’s link to the case. On September 8, the NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty for allegedly purchasing drugs for Sushant. Chakraborty was arrested along with several others, including her brother.
