Data firm puts Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s net approval at a maximum of 55%


A data firm that tracks the approval ratings of world leaders has put Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s net approval at 55 percent.

Morning Consult, which conducts polls and research globally, said in its latest poll that more than 75 percent of people approve of Modi while 20 percent disapprove of it, bringing its net approval rating to 55.

The similar figure for German Chancellor Angela Merkel is 24 per cent, while it is negative for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as more people disapprove of his work than approve of it.

The approximate sample size for the survey in India was 2,126 with a margin of error of 2.2 percent, according to its website.
