NEW DELHI: Heavy rains hit Chennai, Puducherry and parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Cyclone Nivar closes on Bay of bengal. The cyclonic system is most likely to cross the TN and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram around November 25 at midnight and in the early hours of November 26 with a wind speed of 120-130 km / h with gusts of up to 145 km / h. Extremely heavy rains are likely to occur in the districts closest to the landfall such as Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Ariyalur and Perumbalur.
