The Karnataka government on Monday ruled out the reopening of schools in the state on the advice of a panel of technical experts in light of the Covid-19 situation.
After a meeting with school officials, Karnataka’s Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said: “A meeting was held to consider reopening schools in the current year. Based on the advice of the committee of technical experts, the decision to adopt an approach to wait and observe the situation of Covid-19 until late December before deciding to reopen schools “was taken. The situation will be reviewed at the end of December to decide on a possible date to reopen schools in 2021, he said.The state government allowed the reopening of universities on November 17 with established precautions.
