Hello and welcome to Sportstar’s live coverage of the 2020 IPL match between Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings and KL Rahul’s Kings XI Punjab in Dubai.
PITCH UPDATE: KL Rahul won the draw and Punjab will hit first.
Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni (w / c), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Sam Curran, Shardul Thakur, Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar
Kings XI Punjab (Playing XI): KL Rahul (w / c), Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh, Nicholas Pooran, Glenn Maxwell, Sarfaraz Khan, Chris Jordan, Harpreet Brar, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Shami, Sheldon Cottrell
PITCH REPORT: “If you hit first in most games, you are winning. So I don’t see that changing. We have a shorter limit tonight, there is a 66 meter limit but we have a bigger limit limit which is like 85-86 meters to my left, not much on the ground. I’d like to tell you that it’s 21 balls for six here in Dubai, Abu Dhabi 22 balls for six and in Sharjah it’s only 8 balls for six, “says Kevin Pietersen.
Well, we’re only 30 minutes away from launch. Two teams, who have struggled to gain momentum so far, will meet in Dubai and hope their fortunes will turn for the better. It will be interesting to see how many changes, if any, CSK and KXIP ring out for tonight’s game. Will Gayle finally get a game? Will Josh Hazlewood find a spot at CSK XI? While Punjab starters Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul have been in sensational form, Chennai’s Shane Watson and Murali Vijay have struggled to get going. Chennai might consider promoting Sam Curran in form on the order, especially if he is pursuing a high goal. You would imagine that it is lost in the lower order.
