NEW DELHI: As Covid-19 infections surged to an unprecedented level in India over the weekend, the country moved to the center of the global pandemic scene, accounting for more than 40% of all cases recorded around the world on Sunday.

- The number of Covid-19 cases per million inhabitants in the country is 3,102 and is among the lowest in the world, the Union Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.
