In the past 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh posted the highest recoveries with 11,915. Karnataka and Maharashtra recorded 9,575 and 7,826 recoveries, respectively. Tamil Nadu witnessed the recovery of 5,820 people from the disease and 4,779 recoveries from Uttar Pradesh during the same period, it said.

“These five states together contributed 57 percent of the recoveries in the past 24 hours,” the Health Ministry said.

He said that several calibrated and focused actions undertaken within the overall ‘test, follow-up and treat’ strategy have enabled early case identification through aggressive and large-scale testing.
