Covid-19 Random Test for Delhi to Noida Travelers Starting Today – Everything You Need to Know


In an order approved Tuesday, people traveling from Delhi to Noida will be screened for Covid-19 symptoms on a random basis as the coronavirus disease outbreak has grown to an unforeseen scale in the national capital.

The measure, seen as a combative measure amid the recent increase in Covid-19 cases, has been described as a useful measure to assess the spread of the viral contagion, as it would help to issue warnings to employers and organizations, where large numbers of people work and travel between Noida and adjacent areas, officials said.

Here is everything you need to know about moving that affects Delhi-NCR residents:

– Random sampling will be done using a rapid antigen-based test.

– There will be no restrictions on the free movement of people between Noida and Delhi.

– Only a few randomly selected travelers will be tested under this drill and not all travelers.

– The decision has been made due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar and is part of a comprehensive strategy to combat the pandemic that has returned in the district.

– Teams will be deployed to the Noida-Delhi borders in DND and Chilla to randomly check people coming from Delhi for Covid-19 infection.

– All institutions in Gautam Budhh Nagar will receive a warning to be on the lookout for symptomatic people, track them early and provide them with the treatment they need, authorities said.

– People will have to follow all the Covid-19 protocols such as wearing masks or blankets, practicing social distancing in public places and avoiding casual approach against infection, officials have again appealed.

Delhi has recorded more than a lakh of new coronavirus cases and around 1,200 deaths between November 1 and November 16, while nearly 94,000 patients recovered during the same period, according to official data.

The national capital has witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases since October 28, when the daily increase surpassed the 5,000 mark for the first time and surpassed the 8,000 mark on November 11.
