New Delhi: Amid a surge in coronavirus infections in many states and union territories across the country, the Home Office (MHA) released a new set of “surveillance, containment, and precaution” rules to contain the spread of Covid. -19. The new MHA guidelines will go into effect Tuesday, December 1.

After assessing the situation on the ground, the Interior Ministry has allowed states and TUs to impose local restrictions such as night curfew; however, the blockade cannot be enforced without prior consultation with the central government. However, the MHA has reiterated that states cannot seal borders.

The ministry also said that local police and municipal corporations are responsible for ensuring that the guidelines are strictly followed.

Here’s what’s allowed and what’s not: all activities have been allowed outside of the containment zones, except the following, which have been allowed with certain restrictions:

  • International passenger air travel, as permitted by MHA.
  • Movie theaters and theaters, with up to 50 percent capacity.
  • Pools, only for the training of athletes.
  • Showrooms, for business-to-business (B2B) purposes only.
  • Social / religious / sports / entertainment / educational / cultural / religious gatherings, with a maximum of 50 percent of the capacity of the room, with a ceiling of 200 people in closed. spaces; and keep the size of the land / space in sight, in open spaces.
  • There are no restrictions on interstate and intrastate movement.
  • Vulnerable people, i.e. people over 65 years old, people with comorbidities, pregnant women and children under 10 years old are advised to stay at home, except to meet essential requirements and for health reasons .
  • Use of the Aarogya Setu mobile app has been recommended.

New Maharashtra Travel Guidelines

The new laws state that people traveling from Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Goa must carry RT-PCR COVID test reports and all domestic passengers traveling on flights from Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Goa must also carry the test. The proof must be recent from the last 72 hours of travel, prior to arrival in Maharashtra. Additionally, train travelers will also have to present COVID certificates before boarding or they will have to take a test at the station.

Night curfew, double fine in Punjab

Punjab’s chief minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, has issued a series of new restrictions to prevent the increase in Covid-19 cases in the state. Starting today, a nightly curfew will be imposed on all towns and cities in Punjab from 10 pm to 5 am.

The Punjab CM has further doubled the fine for disobeying Covid-19 regulations, such as not wearing a mask or not maintaining social distancing to 1,000 rupees.

Meghalaya schools to reopen

Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said on Tuesday that the state government has allowed schools in rural areas to reopen from December 1 for students in class 6 and up, but with the consent of the students. parents.
